In the morning, get picked up from your hotel and head to Jalan Surabaya. Upon arrival – walk along the path that is famous for its antique stalls from wood sculptures to modern goods like handbag to golf stuffs. This market has been there since 1970 that initially only open on the weekends.

Next visit the National Museum (closed on Monday) – the collection of this museum covers all Indonesia’s territory and almost all of its history. It is an archeological, ethnological, historical and geographical museum and keeps the largest collection of Hindu-Buddhist ancient art of Indonesia. Then proceed to Surabaya street and then later transfer to Dapur Babah restaurant. This restaurant does not only serve you their signature dishes, Peranakan cuisine a fusion of Javanese spices, Dutch’s rich flavors and Chinese sweet & spicy seasoning but it is also a little art museum with soul and romance displayed through their interior.

After lunch – discover the oldest Buddhist temple in Jakarta ; Vihara Darma Yakti that was built by a Chinese captain Oei Tjhie in 1755 to replace a previously demolished Buddhist temple that dated back to 1650. Continue to visit other religious landmark, the Santa Maria Church with a very strong Chinese influence with red doors and Chinese style roofs.
