Depart from Kuala Lumpur City Centre for Melaka. Upon arrival, proceed for Historical Melaka Tour. Founded in 1403, Melaka is Malaysia’s oldest town, full of fascinating history and multi-cultural heritage. The Portuguese, Dutch and British ruled over Melaka’s silk and spice trade for centuries and these invaders have left an unparalleled legacy of historical relics and monuments, reflected most strongly in its town. The beauty of the town has been recognised and it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008. Relive history as you walk through the city’s historic buildings including the Stadthuys, St. Paul’s Church and the mighty fortress – Porta de Santiago, built by the Portuguese in 1512. Melaka is also one of the birthplaces of the ‘Peranakan’, a mix of Chinese and Malay descendants uniquely its own. Lunch at a local restaurant (Nyonya cuisine). After the tour, drop off at hotel for check-in. Please note: As there is quite a bit of walking on this tour, good walking shoes will be required.
